Yoga... Man

Hey There!

I have been doing yoga twice a week for the past month. It is amazing!

There are so many benefits of yoga. The most obvious one is flexibility, but there are a lot of other benefits. Yoga massages your internal organs and flushes new blood into different parts of your body, therefore bringing new vitamins and oxygen to your internal organs. Yoga also lubricates your joints and ligaments which is great for you entire body.

If you have done yoga, you know that you feel it in your muscles. It really can tone your muscles which is always great!

One thing that I have noticed is that I am sleeping better since I have started yoga. SCORE!

The benefits of yoga go on and on, so I would recommend it to anyone. Most gyms have yoga. There are many different types so I recommend trying out as many different types as you can to figure out what you like.

Love Always,

Ms.Boots

Calculate your BMI with Mr.Bobinsky

Hello!

Tonight I would like to explain my mission a little bit more to you.

This year I have gained some weight. I am five feet, four inches tall and I normally weigh between 120-135. My mom finally got me to weigh myself, something I never do, and I found that I way... gulp... 147 pounds. GASP. This is technically over a normal BMI (Body Mass Index). I recommend checking your BMI number to make sure you are at a good weight.

This is a great website to calculate your BMI : NHLBI BMI Calculator

I started dieting (in a healthy manner) a couple of weeks ago but I cant tell you how much weight I loss because  I only weighed myself for the first time on Sunday! I do believe that the diet works though, it gets me eating a much smaller amount of calories a day. I used to do mindless snacking but because of this diet I know how much I can snack a day.

This is what the diet consists of:
Breakfast - Protein Bar under 200 calories.
Midmorning Snack- 90 calorie snack bar
Lunch - Protein bar under 200 calories
Mid afternoon snack - 90 calorie snack bar
Dinner - Whatever I want
After dinner snack - 60 calorie pudding cup.

Its good because by the time dinner comes around I have only had 540 calories, so I can have a good yummy dinner. My dinner normally consist of a salad with carrots, olives, mushrooms, peppers, and a light oil dressing. Steamed vegetables, or a small serving of pasta (less than a cup), and a yummy dessert.

I know that once I start working out more I should be taking in more calories. The number one thing to do when trying to lose weight is to be healthy!

Because I go back to my hometown on weekends (thursday night-sunday night) I decided to sign up for one of our local gyms. I have been a member of a different gym in this area but I decided on a new one for a fresh start. My first day at this gym will be this Thursday!

During the week I take yoga classes on Monday and Wednesday. Once I meet with a personal trainer at my gym back at home I will probably also figure out a cardio plan for up here at my home away from home. Its very cold where I live during the week still so I cant do outdoor cardio yet, maybe in a week or two. I really dont like the gym here though, its gross, and the people there act like its a cult. I am probably just making more excuses.

I wish I could say more in this post, but I dont want to bore you to death. Expect posts in the future on the health benefits of yoga, how to diet safe, and a fabulous picture of my "Before Body" which I am totally not looking forward to posting!

Until then, enjoy this picture of Mr. Bobinsky, from Coraline, who could be my body double!

Welcome!

Hey Everyone!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I thought I would introduce myself. You can call me Cheetah, or Cheetah Boots if you like. I am not new to the whole blogging thing. I have been running a pretty successful music blog for a few years now. It is still doing really well, but I felt I needed a new blog to share my journey of getting in shape. I would like to remain anonymous on this blog, because I do not want to compromise my other blog, and my identity is known on my other blog, which once again I would like to remain in the dark about who I am.

I will tell you this-

I am a young adult, under the age of 25 but over the age of 18. I recently moved, I now have all new friends, and they have much different eating habits then back at home. I also have been very busy and have not had time to go to the gym (total excuse!). For these reasons and more I have gained weight. I was never a stick, I have always had big boobs and a round-ish belly.

I plan on  posting a picture of me later so you can see where my starting part is, but if you need an idea of what my body type is I could be described as a carrot with the point facing down, or an inverted triangle. Big boobs, round belly, tiny hips, super skinny legs. I will admit I have some of the best legs you have ever seen!  Even though I have gained weight they dont get bigger.... or much bigger.

Moving on, if you havent figured it out by now, I am a girl. I hope the boobs were a giveaway. I love being outdoors, I love music, and I love having a fun time! A fun time for me is not drinking, doing drugs, or partying until 4 AM every weekend. I am a naturally fun person to be around so I dont feel the need to drug myself up to have fun. I love dance parties, wearing fancy dresses to no place special, hanging out with friends all the time, and just being silly. I also love reading, watching movies, talking politics, yelling at people for not caring for the environment, and so much more!

Tomorrow I will post about my plan for losing weight and getting into shape. For me it is less about vanity and more about being healthy. I want to be able to beat a boy up if needed to ;)   I will also start a Twitter account either tomorrow or early this week so you can be updated of new posts!

So join me, and lets get healthy together!

Love,
Cheetah
